The Prophet Jonah (Peace be Upon Him) was commanded by God to help the people of Ninevah (near present-day Mosul) turn towards righteousness. He did not think the people of Ninevah would turn back to God so God convinced him. Jonah obeyed and went to Ninevah and preached the righteousness of God.
